Spiritual heights: Where Nature touches the Divine

Meteora Day Tour from Thessaloniki

Our day begins with a cup of Greek coffee or tea from your place at Thessaloniki, setting the perfect tone for an exciting day ahead. As we hit the road towards Meteora, the trip becomes more than just a distance covered – it is an exploration of the landscapes of Macedonia and Thessaly.
Meteora, a place that holds a special spot in my heart, is a harmonious blend of nature, culture, and spirituality. I vividly remember the awe of my first visit more than a decade ago!
En route, we encounter “Skites”, small monastic retreats tucked away in serene corners where monks seek solitude. A pause here allows us to feel the tranquility that envelops these hidden gems, far from the reach of large buses.
We explore two of the six magnificent monasteries that grace this unique landscape, discovering hidden details that often go unnoticed. I will also reveal my favorite spots for great pictures. Lunch at Kalambaka becomes the interlude before our driver navigates us back to Thessaloniki.
Depending on the Opening days and hours of the Monasteries, we visit two of the monasteries and we see all six of them
Monastery of Roussanou
Monastery of St. Nicolas Anapafsas
Monastery of Transfiguration (The Great Meteoro)
Monastery of Varlaam
Monastery of the Holy Trinity
Monastery of St. Stephen
